MelCOR Governing Committees
MelCOR Governance
MelCOR is governed by two committees, which are responsible for all aspects of the MelCOR project, and managed by the Operations Team:
Executive Committee
The Executive Committee is comprised of small subset (5 members) of the Steering Committee. They are entrusted to make decisions that are beyond the scope of the operations team, but that require a response within a time frame that the Steering Committee cannot meet. It also supports the Operations Team, and keeps the Steering Committee and other stakeholders informed of the project’s progress. In addition, the Executive Committee reviews and distributes all public facing news and announcements.
Members of the Steering Committee may be nominated for membership of the Executive Committee, which is appointed for a fixed period of time.

Operations Team
The Operations Team for the MelCOR pilot is responsible for the day to day management of MelCOR. It is governed by the agreements and policies outlined by the Steering Committee, and reports periodically to the Executive Committee in between Steering Committee meetings.
The Operations Team is currently housed within Monash University.

Steering Committee
The Steering Committee is comprised of individuals with expertise in melanoma care and research, and is entrusted with overall governance of MelCOR. It is responsible for providing strategic direction, and to ensure that the goals and outcomes of the registry align with the requirements – legal, ethical and clinical – of melanoma care and research in Australia.
Membership of the Steering Committee is expected to change over time, according to the availability of individuals. At all times, it will represent a broad cross section of concerned stakeholders, representing multiple organisations and groups with an interest in melanoma.
